I read your forum about FFVII: Ultima Edition. I too have it, just started playing it. I originally thought there really was no difference other than getting the "goodies". That was until I read this on yahoo answers from ket_kul:
- Final Fantasy VII Ultima Edition is hack version of Final Fantasy VII, you can say this is illegal version because the producer of this Final Fantasy Ultima Edition is not confirmed has a relation with Square-Enix who have the copyright of Final Fantasy VII. Some of not important part of the game was removed... so the size of it only about 300Mb, the original version should have 1,3 Gb ++ (seen from the 3 disc of inal Fantasy VII ).
You will have a glitch when you use a enemy skill materia.... some of them will give you blank screen when used....
I didn't know also the uses of Goodies pack, because when installing it, same like you i just press yes

Well my copy I too had downloaded, at 4shared to be exact. Mine was Ultima Edition, and mine was 1.32GB as well. I have no idea, I really have no problem with it either. I also found out that it cannot be hacked, I was going to use a Final Fantasy VII Sephiroth Edition patch, but can't 'cause mine is Ultima. Anyways, I just recently found me a psx emulator that was just labeled "Guilty Gear.exe", it is prety cool since I do own the game and now I can play my ps games on my laptop. Other than that the whole "goodies" thing was in my version of Ultima Edition, all it is a folder containing spoilers, animated GIFs, icons, images and patches.

Hmm, the version I have was 1.3GB so I'm not sure what to think. Eidos Interactive published both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII for the PC so I'm assuming that person is referring to them, which in that case the person is wrong because I have seen the CDs in a store and they had Eidos Interactive on the label. Mine was a setup file that I found somewhere and I never had a problem with using materia or anything in the game. The only problem I had was that the game would randomly shut down on me, but I figured it's because it's a Windows 95 game that's trying to work on a Windows XP.
