Thank you so much and please excuse my very late answer, I haven't been here for a long time.
The ears are attached to a headband, which is underneath the wig. I put the headband under the wig, stab it through the wig close to the headline (where I want to ears to begin), put the ears onto the headband and then hide the band under the wig again.
I hope this helps.
