Certainly! ^^ I've been tinkering with digitigrade stilts for a number of costumes and during my research I came across it. I love the creature's head-shape. Have you worked on building it at all? I'd be curious to see if it works.
And I noticed that you had a link to some stilts that will hopefully be for sale. Today I came across a new design that the creator has which looks less clunky: [link] Only $945! lol.

Yes, I've been drooling over those for about a year now, ever since she moved to new zealand to work with Weta on those. If I ever have a grant lying around I'm so buying those

I'm surprised it's still up. Usually websites like that shut things down after they've been inactive too long.

This covers the VERY basics: [link] There's a lot more to it for more complex things, obviously, but one needn't worry about that till they get the hang of the base skills.

Thank you. I've been trying to pin down a style I can use reliably, but as you can see by my miss-matched pieces that has yet to happen. lol. Until recently, I've been going after realism my whole life. Now I just want something that looks good, produces a predictable outcome without too much frustration, and is of course fun. As I've been searching for that Holy Grail, I've been doing more sketches than actual art, so now of days most of my activity is in my scraps instead of the gallery itself.
Mine is pronounced "Ch-and-uh" though the past year or so I've been using "Ch-awn-duh" as well (I prefer it because it sounds a bit more formal). Does she have a problem with people wanting to put an R in her name? So many people want to call me "Chandra" even when they've never even heard that name before.
dA has been sorta slowly dying for me over the past few years. A lot of my friends aren't using the site anymore and I don't often go looking at others' work, thus limiting the new acquaintances. It's a very nice surprise to have someone strike up a conversation.

lol. Naw, not royalty. The name is based on that of a goddess, though, so that might have something to do with it. And out of curiosity, how did you come across the name Chandall? The variant seems even more rare than mine.
By the way, I hate to be a pest, but reading your messages is somewhat difficult due to the lack of punctuation. If it's not too much trouble, it would be very helpful if you used periods. But if it's a pain to alter your writing, don't go out of your way to do so. Things like no capitalization and the lack of commas/apostrophes don't bother me since they don't really affect understandability, but I find that separating sentences makes reading much easier. Like I say, only do it if you're so inclined. This is just a trivial request, and I feel bad for even asking.
By the way, your screen name really amuses me. How did you come up with it? I'd like to change mine, but have yet to think of a really witty one.

As I say , you are royalty to me. sorry for the run on sentance, you should have seen my english work LOL. It is no prob, and you may ask anything you wish of me, the only bad question is the one never asked.
Laura was hanging sheets and it came to her upon a breeze or a whisper, I can not really remember, but we disscussed it and well its permanant. unless she pays to change it ......
Well, you see my avitar?, its from Gundam 00 and gummy and gun sort of go together, so I decided mabey no one else would have it and so I went for it. Also, I like gummy candy!!
I love your avitar, what is it representing? is it elven? and the color background just catches me and draws me in. how did you get it to be so crisp? mine is supposed to be crisp ,but the 4x4 requirement ment I lost integrity.

I've been tempted to go on random word generators on the web and try to produce screen names by putting together adjectives and nouns which don't normally fit together but sound interesting. Things that foil one another are my favorite, especially if they have similar sounds, which is why I like yours so much.
The symbol on my avi is my artistic signature (you can see it a bit better here [link] ). I made it in middle school, probably a short while before being introduced to dA, and it just sorta stuck. I like it because it's really quick to make if I just want to throw it on something (such as a silly comic or something) but when I want to draw it nicely I can still get the composition rather nice. The background is just something I got when playing with Photoshop one day. I liked the color combo and vividness of it, so I slapped my mark on it and made an icon.
It's tricky to make a crisp avi from an existing image. You have to change the settings to 300dpi, I imagine. If you have the original image and don't mind sending it to me in a link or something, I could resize it for you. Perhaps clean it up a bit while I'm at it. It'll take all of a minute or two.

well I will give it a bit-o a think. anything you seem to lean twards? like "lost lake" or"power pine" mabey "varment vampire"
I do so love your signature, it's just so striking and yet it makes me feel at home some how. don't quite know how to convey that one.
I have added the pic to my gallary, and a pic of me so you can throw darts or scare fish. LoL. so any thing you can do to fix it I will be grateful, really.

I prefer unusual words. Ones that most people know, but generally don't get used much. And as far as rhymes go, I like pairs that have similar letters in similar places as oppose to a first-letter match. So things like "malignant assistant" and such. If I can find just a single word I like, then rhyming it will be easy with the tools I have. It's just a matter of thinking of random enough words to start with...
I think it might be the mix of sharp points, straight edges, and smooth curves. Points and edges tend to catch the eye and give a striking effect, while rounded sides offer a mellow, safe feel. Though I might just be making that up with post-hoc analysis. lol.
Thanks. ^^ I'll play around with it and see what I can do. When I'm done I'll send you a link.

Sure thing. You've got some beautiful work. I haven't had much time to look through your gallery properly yet, but be sure that I shall.
If you don't mind me asking, what medium to you use? Color pencil? And if so, what kind? I've been trying to figure out a new coloring method to try, in hopes of getting out of a rather bad art slump, so I figure the best way to do that is dabble with artforms I find I like.

SwiftKill23 In reply to Zoe1975 [2010-03-24 23:27:34 +0000 UTC]
Thanks.
Just so you know, this is gonna be kinda specific. I hope you can handle it, but by the looks of the other avi's you've made, it won't be a problem.
I was hoping you could make something like a black wolf on a dark green grassy hill looking up at the sky and it's filled with stars and a few thin clouds and the wolf is on the top of the hill with another wolf, but the other wolf is a silhouette and the black wolf is see-able and you can see bright green eyes.
And maybe the background is a dark forest.
Also, I was hoping to have small (but readable) red letters in the top left corner of the icon that says "Swiftkill23".
I was also hoping that you could have the other wolf looking at the black wolf, and everything else but the black wolf is darkened a bit.
If you could do this, it would be a great help.
If you can't do this, I'm perfectly fine with that.
I hope I haven't put you into too much frustration in doing this.
