Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-04-09 16:01:08 +0000 UTC]

I actually have a lot of stuff going on right now and it's making me kind of grumpy!

You're my husband's friend righttt? I watch him talk to you a lot. Oo that sounded creepy. I don't mean it like THAT. We look at art together a lot and sometimes replying to people is part of that lolll

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Self-Epidemic In reply to Zombie-Sue [2013-04-09 17:58:10 +0000 UTC]

I am yeah, he talks about you very highly! Also hes like, all for equal rights regardless of sexuality, race and sex. I like that in a person, makes them cool, and apparently you are to blame

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-04-10 03:25:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeaaaaaaah! When I met him he was a real dork lol. He's never been like, idk, anti-feminism or anything, but I definitely pushed it along. I'm super smug about it. :3 It's something that's reeeeeeally important to me.

Right now, I work at a company called Hobby Lobby that's working to fight the requirement to cover emergency contraception. It's really, really irritating. They're a good company, I make well over minimum wage starting out and they close early (8 PM while most places close at 9 or 10) and are closed on Sundays so I have time to spend at home. I love everything about it....... except that the owner insists on this stupid lawsuit x(

And the worst part is that people assume I agree with it because I work there, so customers say things to me like "tell your boss to keep up the fight!" and shit all the time. REALLY annoys me. Like, do you agree with everything your boss says and does? Why would you just assume? UGGH

Well I'm glad he has became more aware of it, its something I'm extremely passionate about too and my SO is the same, we discuss a lot of things, such as Mens Rights, feminism, rape, etc.

That sounds quite interesting, but also quite difficult. I can see a lot of people being extremely passionate about what you do, for and against! D:

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-04-14 18:04:02 +0000 UTC]

Mens' rights is a funny one, isn't it? Everyone just assumes that they have all the rights, but it's not always true. Child custody is the best example I can think of.

Self-Epidemic In reply to Zombie-Sue [2013-04-14 18:27:24 +0000 UTC]

That and male rape are both pretty huge ones, they are affected by positive discrimination too ( ie, being told they don't get a job because they aren't a minority, etc ). I think every person, gender, race, orientation and such will face their own adversities, what I want is that those adversities not to be effected because of who/what they are.

I don't see it happening in our life time, sadly.

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-04-14 19:19:43 +0000 UTC]

I had a relative, a distant one, who actually contracted HIV when he was raped x( But I have a lot of trouble talking about that for a long time. I usually avoid those types of debates.

Does that happen a lot in the UK? Not getting a job because of affirmative action and stuff?

Self-Epidemic In reply to Zombie-Sue [2013-04-15 13:34:00 +0000 UTC]

Don't blame you.

A lot of people are struggling with work, and I do think there is a lot of discrimination, so it could be possible.

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-04-16 00:12:25 +0000 UTC]

I've never heard of it here. But I've also heard that it's a lot easier to find a job in the US than in Europe. I don't know if that's true of course I'm entirely dependent on what international friends tell me.

I think its just shitty circumstances now, I know I've not got jobs because of my degree however.

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-04-16 16:03:04 +0000 UTC]

That's one of the main reasons I haven't bothered to get one. o.o It's a lot of time, and a substantial amount of debt... and then the chances of being able to pay it off are slim right now x( I hope it improves for you, though. what's your degree in?

Its expensive, but I don't really mind. It was in Games Design, or more interactive media, ie digital packages/programs. I'm trying to get a BAFTA currently, so fingers crossed. If I do I'll be exactly where I want.

I kind of accept it... Right now, my mind is actually on my husband's birthday. It was yesterday. For his birthday, we.... went to a funeral and his parents forgot about it because his mom threatened to kill herself. Today was supposed to be a do-over and it's snowing. In may,

Happy birthday Quinten...

Omfg why do people have to act tough when they aren't? Look at this bullshit [link] derp derp I have triggers I just hit the back button. Okay, if all your """triggers""" do is trigger you to hit the back button, it's not the same fucking thing. She clearly has no idea what I am talking about and probably only created this creepy molestation victim character to satisfy her urge to come off as super learned (deeeerp I can read u guise, i can read classics) and edgy and HARDCORE because she's really just a pathetic high schook kid who never grew out of the gawth thing.

Of course, this is all just made up in my head because I'm mad I really have no idea what her life is like. Maybe she's had it harder than anyone in the whole world. WHATEVER. She still could have said "I'm not changing it" she didn't have to be a BITCH about it. Just because I SAID that this bothered me doesn't mean I can't handle it, it means I'm adult enough to speak my mind. And then she blocks me? Okay, maybe she's the one who needs to grow up or give up the internet. What a loser. 3<

Sorry I'm ranting at you. My life has been really stressful lately and I'm taking it out on people on the internet and she set me off. It felt good to type out two really long paragraphs rife with frustration though. Feel free to skim ^.^

My husband said that you had a poll up about whether or not you should like, show the process of making the game. Have you decided on that yet? I know we would both want to see it.

Nawh shes a twat, its okay I backed you up <3

I'm going to be doing a twitter account, a blog and a facebook. The facebook account will be people who are more interested in the art, competition side of things. The blog is what we're going to do, tutorials, etc and the Twitter is just kind of a middle ground.

I need to work on the art for that tomorrow. Also, I'm super sensitive over rape and such, it made me angry too. I think its one of those things that are shown in shows and films far too much to "toughen up a character". Or some bullshit. Its just not necessary. Its why I watch kids shows and films almost all the time.

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-05-21 14:20:23 +0000 UTC]

Ohhh okay, neat! Like a tumblr blog or a regular blog? I've never used twitter before

I always really resist doing things when I know I need to and have a dead line qq

I hear you. Some stuff isn't bad, like for example, I can handle one or two quotes from Lolita (so really that one deviation wasn't that bad) they tend to stay with me for a day or two... but some stuff really stays with me for weeks and keeps me up at night. It's bad.

Do you watch escher girls? (tumblr, I don't know if you have a tumblr) There was a reeeeeaaally good post about all the "adversity" female (and other, like gay couples) types of characters have to face and how at this point she'd rather just have all male characters until someone figures out how to write the others without all that crap. It's so getting out of hand. Things like that happen, and things like that should be written about but... it doesn't need to be every single character ugh

-reads her reply to you- lol I don't even understand her. At this point she's just REFUSING to do it just because someone told her to, and she KNOWS that she should. Like seriously, since this site is supposedly CHILD MOLESTATION FREE, (I mean it's not really but devart takes SOOOOME steps to make it that way and it's in the rules) I don't that it's unreasonable to expect that you shouldn't accidentally stumble into it. In cases of protected free speech (IE characters with a past or quotes from a classic novel) there should be a warning...... it's just the fair and polite thing to do. And what does she lose by doing it? She's not patronizing anyone.

Self-Epidemic In reply to Zombie-Sue [2013-05-30 23:56:11 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's crappy. I usually so searches before I watch anything now, it's crap that there is so much nasty violence in everything

Eh, she isn't too bright, or maybe just selfish. I think it's pretty ignorant tbh, bad traits to have.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zombie-Sue In reply to Self-Epidemic [2013-06-14 04:02:45 +0000 UTC]

Omfg, you're in your 20s and you can't drive? Is that a common thing there? Not trying to pick at you at all.

It's going great! Only took me like 2 days to really get good at it, although shifting still isn't natural to me. It's a lot different than an automatic transmission

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Self-Epidemic In reply to Zombie-Sue [2013-06-15 10:58:39 +0000 UTC]

Its expensive, and so is education. So its quite a one-or-the-other thing; my boyfriend can drive, he lives in the middle of no where so he has too. I live in a town ( or well, a city currently ) and I can walk to wherever I want to go.

Its common though, just expensive, I can't justify spending thousands of pounds on being even lazier ( and trust me, I'm extremely lazy )

Thats good! At least you know most about driving, so its not much of a learning curve other than the gears
