Favorite books: I am a HUGE fan of the Percy Jackson books! I've read those way more times than should be possible. Other than that I enjoy sci-fi books and other fantasy books.
Tools of the Trade: Pencil and eraser for now but I want to vectorize my sketches and learn to paint them in Photoshop.
Other Interests: Other interests I have are watching web content made by The Yogscast, Roosterteeth, and the Creatures and I have an unhealthy obsession with Lego.

My dad has been buying me lots of graphite and charcoalnpencils for years.
But i have never used them.

OOh charcoal is really fun! I find it best to do the whole thing in pencil first and then start filling it in with the charcoal. Make sure your charcoal is a nice soft one that blends and smudges well. It's good to practice on a spare piece of paper or little sketches first or as you go along on the main drawing. The most important thing in my opinion though is to make sure that you are prepared to get dirty because smudging the charcoal with your fingers is how you can get some really good shadows

oh and also make sure you get an idea of the blackest tone and lightest tones you can do with your charcoal so that you make use of high contrasting shadows
