# About me
Started painting in acrylics a few years ago, after a long absence {decades} from doing any form of artwork. I have been painting mostly wildlife recently, but will paint anything I find interesting, hence the aircraft paintings. I started doing portraits recently with mixed results, as I am still new to this. Painting is Something I fit in after work, when I shoud be fixing the menagere of old cars on the driveway.# Comments

Thanks for the comment, sorry about the late repl, I am glad you like my artwork. I suppose the interest in aircraft is from my father being in the RAF for 20 years. (Canberras, Valiants, Royal Aircraft Establishment (Farnbourgh).Came to New Zealand when he retired from the RAF Best wishes for the new year.

Thank you, Duncan. My GF's dad was a WWII fighter pilot and later flew transports in Korea. He flew all kinds of planes, but mostly he was known as an airman with the 354th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force (when it was still the Army Air Corps) flying the first P-51DΒ Mustangs in Europe that escorted the bombers all the way into Germany. If you look in my gallery, my portraits of him are "Quiet Man (1)" and "(2)" 70 years apart. My dad was in the Air Corps, too, but not a pilot.

I have been meaning to paint a Valiant or Canberra sometime but haven't got around to it. ( my father was on 18, 109, 139, and 617 squadrons bombing and target marking on Canberras, and the only ECM Valiant squadron, others at the time were nuclear strike force. )

No problem, glad you like them, they were done from photos of statues for a challenge. They were were derived from the statue photos and with some changes turned into figures and placed in imaginary settings. Might try again sometime, I sometimes make substantial changes from the reference photo I may use,

Thanks, they are portrait sketches, I have done four of them with two to go, interesting to note that they will pay three to four times as much to frame the artworks as they will to commission them.
