ah, thank you! I hope you find something you like ^^

well, I am now graduated with said major. graduation was this past weekend.
what I liked most about it? well the integrative nature of it. I didn't just study psychology or linguistics but psychology, linguistics, philosophy, computer science, and neurology. I got to see how all of these things are connected in this yet to be found tangible thing called the mind. it is a an amazing little thing indeed. There is so much we still don't know. what do I dislike most? probably that people don't know about it. I suppose that is a bittersweet thing. it is a good ice-breaker or conversation starter but at the same time it would be nice to mention it and have someone know what it is and be able to discuss it.

how are you liking Neurology? I took a fundamentals of neuroscience class and I wasn't too fond of it. I prefer the theoretical aspect of the mind than working out the mechanics of the brain...well I like the intersection of the two...so not pure biological study and not pure theoretical study...which is why I went with cognitive science. it sort of sits in the crossroad.

Congratulations for graduating!

Wow, that sounds fascinating. I am merely studying Neurology in a very disease-oriented way, since I'm in med school... for instance, yesterday I was studying cognitive functions and we first learn a little about each one of them but then focus on pathological alterations (for instance, aphasias and neglect, with me finding the latter a quite interesting condition), but it's good that this is being taught in a broader sense. I am hoping there may be further research in the future to broaden our knowledge on the brain/mind - there's so much we don't know! Yes, I understand not many people know about Cognitive Science, but think of all the people that you can educate on the subject! I'm sure you know lots of trivia that can interest the casual acquaintance

Interesting that it's such an integrative major; I had no idea you were also taught computer science, for instance, but I suppose it can also be applied on robotics and the field of artificial intelligence.

yes, neglect is an interesting one, though I'm partial to aphasias because of my linguistic focus.

I suppose I have a few bits of trivia to share, haha.

yes, the computer science was heavily tied to the philosophical studies which was heavily tied to the linguistics and neurological studies and then psychology was sort of draped over everything. I really enjoyed it.

Oh, that's great, congratulations future colleague! I'm on the 4th year and loving it although, of course, the amount of information we are expected to retain is sometimes a little too much. But since I'm in the clinical years I am much more engaged comparing to the days where it was just theory, theory and theory I hope it goes well!
