Heh. I wouldn't quite call myself an ex-pat, but it looks like I may eventually wind up being one.
I might be heading to southern Angola and northern Namibia this summer. Well, southern winter.
Japan is, well, foreign.

Thanks for your great comments on 'Studio Boron 4am' and 'Aphid Birth.' Yes, aphids reproduce asexually which explains why there are sooo many of them. Love open source and Linux but all of my photo stuff is still done in Windows. Before you pull out your samurai sword, it is because I have been using Photoshop for years and am comfortable with it. I would love to see a Linux version of photoshop (and photomatix).

I have to agree with you, at least in part - all of the RAW processing software I've used on Linux has been very difficult to understand... Maybe that's just the interface? I don't mind the GIMP (most likely because I didn't get into digital imaging until *after* I got into OSS, meaning I used the GIMP before I tried Photoshop), but I often find myself wishing for better RAW and fractal software. Still, cheers from another Linux user!
