I noticed! Maybe I'm a bit twisted (okay, more than a bit) but I think the ol' Mushroom Shaped Cloud is one of the most beautiful and powerful images man has ever created. Not that I want to be near one, necessarily, but man, they're gorgeous.

Not sure I'm a pyro... I don't set fire to things just to see flames... but if the Cloud is one of the loveliest things man has made, so is fire one of the most wondrous things nature has made. It's hypnotizing in it's beauty, I think. Lightning too. I love them both. And both are incredibly powerful. *L* I like powerful things.

Too true! Yes, a deep rolling thunder close to the deck, so loud and long it seems you have surround sound speakers taped to your ears and volume cranked all the way up... the china on the wall rattles and small children hide under the bed while adults pretend not to be scared, too... oh yeah. Thunder! Lightning seems to be lacking without it.

Well, days after DA hasn't allowed anyone to respond to messages, I write back about the dogs and thunder. We just a couple of huge thunderstorms here... one this morning. It was gorgeous! I've never heard the thunder so loud and close to the deck out here, and I've lived here 12 years. Beautiful. Unfortunately, it scares the dogs and because it was so bad, I let them in out of pity. Now, I am a cat lover and only a dog liker, but to see them trembling in fear touched my heart. Well not anymore! They were so scared it took me 30 minutes to corral them into a room 'cuz they were running around terrified! (they're outdoor dogs only) Arg! And then I was tripping over them, and they were running into me, and they're big dogs, not easy to move if they don't wanna move, so it was a headache. *sighs* So no more dogs shivering under the bed. They have to weather it outside in their doghouses from now on!
