Oh yeah, I was in Paris last week, didn't I tell you? (I wish!) Anyway, I've always considered that statue "my statue" It epitomizes art for me. The detail, the wings, the stance, I love everything about it! Someday, I WILL own a replica of that thing!
(although, I think I need to get a clearer pic of it)

You know, I went to France about 3 or 4 years ago actually. I'll have to look through my family's photo album of that trip but I think we got a/some pretty good photo(s) of that statue.
Okay, so, I get the Nike part of your name--Nike of Samothrace/Winged Victory--but I still don't know what the hell amphitrite is supposed to mean.

lol, amphitrite is the Greek goddess of the sea. I have some fascination with the ocean/beach and Greek gods/goddesses so I figure why not combine the two?

ah-hah...don't know the greek definition of the trite suffix, but yes, amphi means 'both' or 'two worlds' referring to land and water. What's the myth behind Amphitrite? Apparently she was the daughter of Nereus and the wife of Poseidon, yes?
