# About me
Anahata Rattery is a registered polish rattery. You can visit us here:
anahata-rattery.eu.interia.pl/
We breed only rats with pedigree and we don't approve of breeding rats from pet shops!
We breed rats for their health, lifespan and character. Colours and markings are our second priority.
We take part in various rat shows in Poland and abroad. :)
We do not intend to breed many lines, so we don't have many litters. Breeding and taking care of rats is our passion, not source of income. ;) We finished education some time ago and all of us have normal jobs. ;)
Our babies go to new homes when they are 35 days old. They receive a pedigree, health card and death card. We don't sell them for snake food so please, stop asking that :/
We are co-working with european ratteries: from Poland (of course :D), Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Lithuania, The Netherlands, etc. We import and exchange rats :)
Anahata is run by 2 friends: Agnes with her husband and Agata with her boyfriend. So it's actually like 4 owners :D We have rats with pedigree and rats from shelters. We breed rats with pedigree but we also help in rehoming stray or unwanted rats.
This account is run by Agnes.
If you wish to know more, just ask ;p
Current Residence: Poland, Central Europe
Print preference: the biggest the better
Personal Quote: Dogs have owners. Cats have servants. Rats have friends.

I don't use wooden shavings. I don't really know how to explain the stuff. It's grey, and looks more like it should be food, but it is especially made to keep out odors. And his nose looked a little red on tuesday... so I think it may be a cold. He's still at a young age.

It would be best if you went to the vet - if it's a cold it won't go away on it's own.

Maybe, but more probably he just has a cold, or is allergic to something. What do you use for his litter? Wooden shavings are known to cause allergies.
You can cure both mycoplasma and cold with doxycyclinum (tetracyclinum) or enrofloxacine (enrofloxan).

Oh my god. Do you think you can help me? My poor rat Barthelomewl... He makes that odd chittering sound sometimes.... and has been sneezing? May he have that mycoplasma disease?

since you obviously know what you're doing when it comes to rats i want to ask you a question...i'm trying to convince my parents to allow me to have a rat.. but that's the thing only one would be allowed... but the rat would be in my room and i spend most of my time in there anyway... i'm graduating in a week and will be living here while at college and other than my few classes i'll be around for the rat... basically what i want to know is it really that horrible to only have one?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
anahata-rattery In reply to CuteInsanity222 [2010-08-06 23:48:46 +0000 UTC]
Yes, it is really that horrible to have only one. Imagine yourself being alone all your life and have only a monkey for companion...
Also rats are active mostly at night and they love to play with cage mates after midnight. They make many noises that we cannot imitate, for example sqeeks and ultrasounds. They also groom each other and engage in many social behaviours. This is only possible if they live in a pack. Human can never compensate...
So you really should have 2 rats of the same sex.

It was a joy to look through your gallery! I just loved seeing all of your adorable ratties! My twin sister and I have two wonderful American Blue boys, and they are a handful! But they're so sweet and affectionate.

anahata-rattery In reply to IvoryPhoenix [2009-09-17 23:45:22 +0000 UTC]
I sell babies to their new owners and I keep babies that are good to breed and breed them when they reach the proper age. Each female has 1 or max 2 litters with good male to better her line.
Just like any other "pedigree animals breedery" - cattery, rattery, etc.
