# About me
I've been painting for over 20 years. I mostly work in acrylics, and recently have created work on unframed block canvases. But sometimes I use watercolours if the composition merits it. My work has been featured on CD and book covers (including my own published novels).I'm very active in the local art scene in Gloucestershire where I help organise a large open air art exhibition each year in Cheltenham. This provides access for artists of all varieties and talents.
My own work is also hung in a dental waiting room in Gloucester, and a pub in the Cotswolds, as well as in many private collections all over the world. I'm exhibiting twice in 2011 - in Lower Slaughter with the Roving Artists in May (18th-24th), and at the Cheltenham Art in the Park In late June. I'm giving an art demonstration to the Gloucestershire Society of Artists in February.
Current Residence: Gloucester, England
Favourite genre of music: Heavy rock
Favourite style of art: fine art

Much appreciated, William - yes, I like Jack Vettriano's work too, although sometimes he does get pretty dark, doesn't he? Put his compositions are wonderful

Any I love your work, I've started working in acrylic and find it hard to blend the colours, you to able to make the acrylic work like oils, excellent work.

thanks Nigel - I use thin layers of paint built up slowly, sometimes melding wet colours together on the canvas, othertimes carefully layering on a new tones onto dry paint and smoothing it out with my finger. This is very effective with painting skin, and helps to eliminate the hard edges that acrylic often leaves
