Well, truth be told the Belf female paired with/raised by a troll male has been done a lot. It's not that your character has to be TOTALLY different in EVERY aspect to be unique. When you think about it, every character type ever has been done, so nothing is totally unique. Also, when there is a stereotype in place (such as Barbie Belfs) their antithesis is going to be the first way people try to break that mold (naturally leading to troll-y savage Belfs.) Unique does not automatically mean "good character" though. Giving your character reasonable, believable flaws is the first big key. For instance, my troll hunter hates to kill things. It actually makes him sick. If trolls could have been druids back in vanilla when I rolled him up, he'd have been a druid for sure! I have an orc bard lady from a D&D game that has a hard time telling the whole truth. She's made up fun stories for so long and doesn't like to face unpleasant facts, so she winds up running away from hard truths by telling elaborate lies instead. I have a lecherous druggy spaceship pilot from another game who's afraid of heights. Anyways, I for one am always much more drawn in by characters that are flawed--but I guess maybe that's just me.
But ultimately, as long as you enjoy your Chi the way she is, screw what other people think or say! She's yours, let her be her own kind of awesome even if no one else can appreciate it!

First one I did saw was yapi 's Meiles and Yarifeth, tho. I love them to bits!
No, I know that as well. She still posses some of the typical Sin'Dorei traits, even if she was raised elsewhere. The fashion sense, being one of them, if that's a Sin'Dorei trait? Uhmm, she's also bit of a racist (but to her own kin, lol) except towards a few. Hates those who uses fel-magic and so on.
Well, she does have a reason to why she acts all troll-y - She was raised like that xD
And trust me, she does have plenty of flaws, and I love everyone one of them.
For example, she can't be at sea, gets seasick.
And Silvermoon makes her queasy and it becomes hard to breathe.
