Thankyou hunny. I feel embarrassed that someone is asking ME for tips. umm. Well I'm no expert myself on hands, I'm still mastering that part of the anatomy myself (plus the rest of the body, rofl).
You have the right idea though from what I can see of your WIP. What exactly do you want to know? How to improve the hand in the WIP, hands in general or fingers in general??

Well... do you observe your own hands and photos of hands on the internet? Just studying from real life can be a real help figuring out how they bend, their limitation, where the skin creases, where the wrinkles lay.
The next step is practicing painting them.

A funky fact I learned is that the length of the hand (from wrist to middle fingertip) is always the same length as the face (from hairline to chin). Kind of like your forearm is the same length as your foot, LOL.
I don't know how I know that o_o but try it out, it works

Well, this is kinda my first try at digital painting, or at least the first painting ever to make it past greyscale. <.< I'm more of an inking/pencil person, really, so colours are something I'm not used to, and while I can get shapes and outlines pretty well, trying to get the subtleties in their shading doesn't come that naturally yet.

But okay! Time to break out all the reference photos! 8D Thanks!~

If you want to study colour and their potential, go look in *Leonidafremov 's gallery.
I had to study him for GCSE and I don't regret that decision one bit
You're doing well for your first go Knowing where shadows, lighting and shapes go comes with time and patience. Most people never stop learning. Hell, if we did, we would never improve!

If you have a moderately good camera, get some of your own references I do that alot, or use photos I take of friends at get togethers for reference. An example of my use of them is this picture: [link]
My friend James was the reference for Rogue and my other friend John was the reference for Kampank. I took the photos of both of them at a friend's birthday party. It's that simple!

It is! Even I have noticed I have become so much more patient after taking up art. It has helped me out of my rebellious teenage streak too for the most part It's the most fun way I can think of to learn patience ^W^
Oh thats a shame I would feature you to get you more feedback but I have 2 problems with featuring people.
1. I cant use thumbs anymore (no sub)
and 2. when I feature one person I want to feature them all to make it fair.
