How do you get you avatars so smooth yet so small?

Smooth? Like the way it looks, the way it animates?
I use Flash CS3 Pro, set the size to 50x50, and animate half of the walking cycle. It just repeats over and over.

Yup - It may not have all the same special effects or tools as the newer versions, but it all depends on how you use it. Actionscript is different too.
The only other difference is that Adobe produces the newest Flash versions, while the MX series is from another publisher. They do the same thing, though.
