You are going to want to be careful with coating your image with sprays that will degrade your image. Be very careful as sprays turn yellow very fast, even though they state non yellowing. But more importantly compatibility. They have special sprays for ink-jet prints. And it would be for photo prints one side only.

Thanks for passing on the concern.
I went on the recommendation of another artist who has been at giclee reproduction for a few years. He uses BullDog underneath which is a vinyl-based coating with an acrylic-based coating on the top. These were, supposed to at least, have been 'BullDogged' at the printer. I think I am going to buy the Bulldog and coat the next one myself.
I have a sample canvas print that came from another company, Staples Fine Art Printing (not Staples the Office Supply store). I completely submerged that sample into water and scrubbed the image side and it held up perfectly. I am going to try this company next time. They have earned my confidence.
The reproductions I blogged about will be going to people I will have long-term contact with. That will let me check on how the reproductions are holding up over the long haul. These are not limitted editions. They know they will always get a free replacement should there be any longevity issues pop up.

Sounds like Staples is the place. Careful once again. The spray is highly toxic. In my own experience I found it easier to have a printing place do the coating.

Thank you for the wonderful link for Steve Hanks. He is incredible just like you said. I was not familar with him but will research more on him and continue to watch. I am new to the art world. My husband passed away a couple of years ago and shortly after that a dear friend introduced me to diviant art. Since that moment my heart has exploded with a love for the beauty in art and appreciation of the talents of the artists, like yourself. Again thank you for your kindness.

Thanks for friending me and for your comment on my painting! Do you do portraiture for a living? I intend to get into it once I graduate in May. Mind me asking how you go about promoting yourself?

I am honored that you asked for "tips for a wannabe'. I hope to have the online Elluminate drop in studio hours going before too long. THings have been more hectic on this end than I had anticipated or I would already have some going. You could drop in once I post the times and you can let me know what you are interested in. I am hoping to get lots of other DA artists doing these drop in studios and online art tutoring. There has been some interest from the student end but no other potential instructors have stepped forward as of yet. If you want more info, browse through my journal for the last few entries. I journalled about the idea.

I noticed your love of children in your profile statement. It made me smile. There are not many here at DA with a passion for children and children's portraiture. I am thankful for every one of us that I come across.
