well, I live on an island, and we apparently have a lot of them, the cougars all seem to be on the side of the island that has the least people ... I think we've had only one cougar scare in the time that I've lived here, and I've never seen one in the wild personally. they normally avoid people, unless they are starving or have something else wrong with them

wow D:
I haven't heard of that happening too much, but again, the island where I live seems to have most of it's cougars in the more unpopulated areas

indeed
it is a pretty big game here, we just call it footy
one of the players busted his face open, he had to get stiches so they applied medical staples to his face

haha yeah, my dad's from australia originally, but he wasn't all that enthusiastic about my joining the school team ... didn't want his daughter getting hurt *rolls eyes*
unfortunately it's not as popular here, especially at the highschool I went to. only a couple of schools around here have girl's teams, and they seem to be shrinking
ooo ouch that's gotta hurt I think the worst injury I've seen over here was when one of the teams we were playing against dropped their jumper ... the girl ended up fracturing one of her lumbar vertebrae. scared the crap out of us, that shouldn't be happening in highschool games
I haven't been able to play rugby for a while now though ... my university doesn't have a team, and the local club doesn't have even close to enough female members to make a proper team
I rather miss it D:

as long as you or any others don't do a 90 degree tackle, it's all good
probably they are all worried about breaking a nail
"On female rugby teams - Everybody thinks we should have moustaches and hairy arses, but in fact you could put us all on the cover of Vogue." - Helen Kirk (1987)
ish...
just by dropping their jumper!?
a person i know of that goes the same hockey group I go to, played rugby over in canada, he said it wasn't really good
but when he tried to join an unskilled hockey team there, he wasn't good enough!
and he is a great player aswell!

ahaha yeah
I wouldn't say quite all of them fit that description ... D:
yeah ... the lifters started twisting away after the ball, & dropped their jumper at the same time, so she fell really badly. she flailed out trying to right herself, knocking over our jumper in the process, & then landed right on her back. they were a brand new team, & it was the first game they had played ... so I understand why mistakes were made, but dropping your jumper like that ... (& don't get me wrong, the team I was on wasn't that great either )
yupp, he's got that right. where I live is a bit of an exception, we have one school that really, really strongly focuses on their girls rugby team, but other than that, the rest of us rather suck (guys teams included)
canada is deeeefinitely a hockey country I live fairly close to Vancouver, so it's especially crazy out here ... the Vancouver hockey team, the Canucks, pretty much has a cult following people can take the game pretty seriously

haha, nice it's not all that great, believe me. the west coast where I live gets less snow than the rest of the country, & still everything shuts down if we get a snowfall
