Your style is very free and immediate.
Whenever I use oil pastels, I finish the piece using thinner and a stiff brush to blend the colors. You may want to try that technique. It eliminates unwanted white spots. I used the thinner/stiff brush on this:

If you continue to work with oil pastels, thinner or turpntine is a must. You'll see how it improves any oil pastel composition!
