oddly enough I stumbled across your page after randomly checking out the dA pumpkin carving contest where your carved watermelon caught my eye with its eerie green glow. needless to say I had to investigate further... your merman drawing would appear to be of the celebrated Fiji variety as well. ;) (Wink) anyway I'm going to add you to my watch list if you don't mind, kind of to keep tabs on what's going on and how you two are making it.

yeah i never really thought of carving a water melon before but it turned out pretty good. esp as you get the red of the inside of the watermelon showing through in the day time.
at the cost of sounding like an idiot, whats Fiji variety? :S

and browsing through the contest entrants I've seen all manner of fruits and vegetables used, potatoes, carrots, apples, supposedly someone carved a pineapple and even an ostrich egg intricately carved into a dragon design.
