No value outside DA since they can't be traded for money, and even on the site they're not good for all that much, just merchandise, Llamas, a premium and maybe prints.

I don't think I have the following or speed necessary to consider commissions yet; but if I did it would be in cash, not points.

They can actually be exchanged for money inside the site itself. Search and learn about the "Earnings" feature and you'll see. And I'm accepting both points and Paypal, so...

The earnings feature is for taking checks, Paypal, or points; the only conversion option is money to points, not the other way around. On about.deviantart.com/points/ the 3rd rule clearly states "You are unable to convert Points back into currency."

Good luck with the PayPal, though.
