I feel happiest drawing too, like you I dunno quite why.
The simpler the better, I guess? I like ink and pencil best. I'm no good at painting, but I love it because I go in a trance from being so relaxed and calm and I feel so happy even if the painting sucks XD (which happened again today...) but maybe sometime I'll make an effort to learn the technique...
But I don't have issues with material (except mouse of course lolol). I like to draw with makeup and nail polish...sidewalk chalk is fun as well...<-my childhood DX

Whenever I'm in a writing phase I can't draw and whenever I'm in an art phase I can't draw. (I'm hoping I can overcome this if I ever start making comics ;;;; ) I work best with inks--pens, markers. Since I'm selling my soul to NaNoWriMo at the moment, I doubt I'll be drawing much in November. ;;;; I'm gonna try and sew if I have any free time, and save drawing for another time.

Aww that kinda sucks if you want to make comics. DX They have to work together, intertwine...I just don't really understand the process of storytelling, I think? Like I can guess but don't know if I got it right or should do it over. Timing or something that should be intuitive, idk...it will get easier if I actually draw a comic again...last time was in summer... >_>
Yeah, you always use ink XD~~ lines look better but it's harder to correct.
