personally, the only time I would ever join the CIC is once I'm old, grey and had plenty of time in the artillery.. that way the kids get someone experienced, not someone who is just a few years older than them.

I can't comment on the "good old days" as they're called because I wasn't in the CCM before CHAPP, but I can say that I do feel hobbled some days about what we can and can not do with the cadets.
But adapt and over come right?
