you know, that's my biggest problem with the entire thing. Flagg has been set up as Roland's true nemesis. His polar opposite. The two of them needed one last confrontation. Even if it was just a final palaver, and not a fight. There was no closure between their two characters, and I feel that SK could have done more with him. This is the same character from The Stand! From Eyes of the Dragon! And he receives a fate worthy of a side character. lame. grrrr.
