Dear member of the Militia of Awesomeness,

The High Commanding Master Of Awesomness has created a new account only for the Militia.

Here it is: [link]

However the old link is obviously still in place, just in case.

Ok. I don't have Word on my computer-only Corel. So I've done a CV in Corel but when I've tried to send it to companies, they can't open my cv! I think the format may be a WPD? Can I change the format to .gif or something like that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-25 13:43:33 +0000 UTC]

You don't want to send it over as a gif - a gif is just an image, so they wouldn't be able to copy/paste any of your text or modify it in anyway.
Open Office is a free office suite (like MS office), so if you've got broadband you could download that (the download is about 90meg) and they'll be able to read it.
Or I could send it to you as a word doc if you email me the WPD file.

If I can pluck up the courage to send you the details of my educational career that'd be great. Need to send a couple ASAP. Though obviously I'll have to download that programme for a longterm solution. Thanks.

1A, 6Bs, 1D & the rest Cs at GCSE. Es for my Alevels. Had no interest in school.
So I take it you worked out that Nat wasn't working last night!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-26 10:05:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I did. I can't believe I actually remembered them and Nat wasn't there! I saw your wannabe Russian flatmate and was tempted to try and offload the dvds onto him. Decided against it as he wouldn't know who I was and he was wearing bizarre 3/4 length Hawiian pyjama bottoms. You do realise that I'll probably never remember them again?!

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-26 12:00:45 +0000 UTC]

Heh... yeah, I know, it was an unlucky coincidence - This is the first Thursday I can remember Nat having off!

My friend liked the film but lamented the fact that you cannot select chapters....
Do you have a favourite romantic film?
(I shouldn't tell you this but I just almost typed "movie" instead of "film"!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-24 15:22:07 +0000 UTC]

Chapter select isn't too important to me (on films at least).
Favourite romantic film would be either the Great Expectations modernisation with Gyneth Paltow, or the Les Mis film, with Liam Neison.
Ha... when I called it a 'movie' you bit my head off!

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-25 08:35:44 +0000 UTC]

My friend seemed to think it was after he'd seen the rather steamy lesbian sex scene.
Remembered that I lent A Very Long Engagement to a friend who still has it(Double disc with Amelie) so it'll just be Mulholland Drive for now...
At least I bothered to correct myself...(regarding "movies")

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-25 08:50:03 +0000 UTC]

Ah... I didn't realise there were lesbians involved; this changes everything.
No prob, Mulholland Drive will do for now

Do you want to borrow Amelie?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-23 16:11:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'd like to borrow it, although I know nothing about it. Maybe watching it will give me some kind of interesting insight into your core...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-23 16:23:17 +0000 UTC]

Funny you should say that, I do see some of myself in Amelie. In fact, quite a lot.
Remind me to bring it on Thursday afternoon.
And after you've watched it, I expect an analytical comparison between myself and Amelie.
You don't mind subtitles do you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-23 16:37:21 +0000 UTC]

Subtitles?! So I have to watch it once to read, and once to watch?!
No, I'm cool with subtitles (end up watching a fair bit of asian film in the flat anyway!). And I will be as analytical as possible. And cruel.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-24 08:09:09 +0000 UTC]

Cruel?! I'll look forward to that!(You know how much I enjoy emotional as well as physical pain )
If you haven't seen Mulholland Drive, you have to borrow that too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-24 08:53:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, i know... you're mad for pain.
Haven't seen MD, so will borrow that too. Got a few other comedy dvds you'll probably like, so will have to lend you some of those too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-24 10:39:52 +0000 UTC]

Ok. Spread them out though or I'll not get around to watching them and I won't return them for ages and then you'll hate me...

(I've had a friend's dvd for about 6 months. Oops!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-24 11:05:37 +0000 UTC]

Will do! I always forget to give people back their DVDs, so maybe 'one dvd at a time' should apply to both of us!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-24 12:51:14 +0000 UTC]

If you keep my Amelie dvd I will hunt you down(I can easily find out where you live) and kill you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-24 13:24:39 +0000 UTC]

Heh... its cool, I won't
Funny though - we were talking about me borrowing it, and not knowing what its about. Then, when I got home, I was watching Eastenders, and they starting talking about it. One guy said he didn't know what it was about, and another guy described it as (something along the lines of) 'a film about some French girl who goes around being nice to people, falls in love, the usual chick flick'. Accurate description?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Catethegreat In reply to bboystu [2006-05-24 13:47:08 +0000 UTC]

What the hell were you doing watching Eastenders?!
Do you really think that the opinions of one of the half witted philistines in that programme is even half valid?!
It's a wonderful film and I'm sure you'll like it
(so long as you don't expect blood/violence etc..)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bboystu In reply to Catethegreat [2006-05-24 15:06:34 +0000 UTC]

I love the soaps! Well, Corrie & Eastenders anyway. But no, I'm not taking that critique as valid!
Yeah, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Shame about the lack of blood though.
