GAH! Okay, it's like, 30 minutes before my first lecture....philosophy. Lol. I'm rather nervous to be honest. I just had a major freak out because I realized I needed an extra class....so it's the sociology of religion. lol. Gah. First days are fucked. It's 9:33 and I've already cried. Some fucked up bus driver was 20 minutes late so Kaine was late for his first lecture AND she was so rude. She gave us the wrong fare so I told her and she went into crazy bitch bus driver mode. Lol. Just breath through stuff....it can be really hard at times, and very intense....but breath, count to like 1000 and then retry..remember everything is all new, and your starting from scratch...its a lot to take on and a alot to take in....YOU WILL SURVIVE...I PROMISE....it gets better....

Try and grab a multi pass from the uni for the busses, then you wont have to talk to them, you gust drop your card in the electronic thing and jump on, that way no talking to people who hate themselves and their jobs....plus it works out cheaper to grab a multi pass from uni....

I used to take a bus heaps earlier than i needed to be there, that way if it runs late you dont get stuck or miss lectures.....dont forget, they dont mark a roll in lectures, only tutorials, so if you miss one cause of busses or stuff, then dont fret.....you can usually get the lecture notes from the library, or ask someone in the class for their notes....Plus if you go early, grab a coffee or nice drink from the cafe or bar, people watch or do readings....

But overall, just breath, it will get better once you get the swing of things....

Before I forget, I have to tell you. I just saw a no shoe wearing hippy who had the craziest hairy legs....it was quite the experience. I've had all my lectures this week except for Ahist and they've been really good. Though sociology seems quite difficult. There's like, a journal and 3 assignments...rather crazy. But it's rather laid back too which is good.

I know I should have expected it...but all the philosophy kids are so weird. lol. But it's an awesome class. Existentialism for the win. And we do work on Aristotle. Which should be fun. Yay.

Where do you get the multi pass things from at the uni?

Also, do you know where the book shop is here?

Woot! I can't wait to start learning stuff. So far it's been like, the boring course outlines.

Awww the joys of living with others.....if he remains messy, lay down some house rules...something along the lines of common areas are to remain clean (kitchen, lounge, bath etc), rooms can be lived in as you choose, but make sure you choose to close the door....

Multi pass should be available at the stationary shop in the auchmuty building (where the massive dinning hall and tanner bar areor ask around, plus i think you can buy them from newsagents, so ask at the newsagents in jesmond mall)....the book shop, unless it has moved is under that building....you can walk out near tanner bar, down some stairs and turn right (unless its moved) there used to be one in town near the big bus stop end of hunter street mall, up the side street from frost bites, but agian im not sure. \

Well you uni experience really has begun if you have discovered the shoeless hipies...next mission (which should be very easy) find the greenies (usually handing out info at the top of stairs).....
Happy hunting, glad to hear things are getting better, dont stress about the friends thing, you will make friends once tutorials start

yes tutorials are fun....wait till your doing second or third year history (like modern Japan or something), and there is a mature age student who is a mad military history geek, who remembers vietnam and blablabla....iv had lecturers tell them to shut up...so awsome....

go for you, winning arguments in tutorials....just be mindfull of the lecturers expression, check that you dont go to far....i did that once, and the lecturer had this like sheesh that was harsh look....but i have no sympathy for fanatical christian chicks, they are generally very very stupid....

Well done, congratulations, im sooooo proud of you.....I knew you would get in.....the books will probably be usefull, depends on what units you pic and what the prescribed texts are.....you probably wond to historiography as such (not in the painful way we did), but you have to be historiographically aware....dont stress, do your readings and think about what they have to say....the most important thing about UNI history is how you draw your OWN conclusions based on the ideas of others....its a lot of fun

I dont think i will get along too well with the new dp....think umbridge from harry potter, and you pretty much have a good idea of what she is like....I really dont care though, my mind is stuck on the whole only going to school for two terms.....

UMMMMM, my first day of uni was terrible, actually, my first 6 weeks of uni were terrible, i felt very small town and stupid, and kinda lost in the crowd......but dont let that worry you.....I had left the love of my life behind and was not really concerned so much with uni....plus, it took me a long time to feel that i belonged at uni, or that i deserved to be there (massive inferiority complex)....But it got better....I met some people, and then they became friends, the work got easier or i understood it better, so it started to enjoy it after a while...But your experience will not be the same as mine, so dont fret.....I will help you when ever you need it..(which will make it a lot easier).

Dont worry about the friends thing....I didnt speak to anyone when i left high school, infact after the formal i didnt speak to anyone, i just didnt like them so, I just got on with my life....friends come and go, but true friends will always be there in your life in some way or other.....

Yeah, double major in Bachelor of Languages, Japanese and Chinese, with a minor in studies of religion....it looks simple enough, i will be ok with the written part of the work, the oral chinese i will probably have trouble with...but P's make degres...

You can visit school, you just have to sign in at the front office as a visitor...

We lived at unit 2 154 michael street jesmond...shitty little shoe box that was so feral, lots of cockeroachs, weird neighbors, bad bad bad decor....it was not pretty...but it was really cheap, and it was close to uni....

I havnt told year 12 yet cause i dont see them till tomorow, but will tell them then.....they will be ok cause term 1 and 2 are 11 weeks so we will get the course done....then they will have to study, and someone will send home the marking for me.....

YOu will be fine....you will figure it out, people will talk, mostly about class at first, youll find your way... its really easy to meet people, there are heaps of groups to join and activities, you will also see some of the same people in classes so you can be like "hi, we have hist 101 (oh dont do hist 101 its australian hist and its soooo boaring) together, which assigment are you doing".....then its like, "so where did you go to school, blahhhhh".....you can pick and choose the people you like, and you will see them around uni somewhat and then OMG you have friends.....its really quite easy

By the way, there will be heaps of people with a similar image to you, and who are like minded, and probably way more out there.....just observe, uni is awsome, cause all sorts of people gather there...there is even a group who never weaer shoes, (in winter they wear bed socks, but still no shoes).

NO im not going to Italy.....so pissed off, but will probably go in a few years when baby is bigger....

everything and everyone changes after school. Mostley because the things that mattered (school, marks, fights) just dont matter anymore.

Yeah...boredom sucks...it's strange though. I do absolutely nothing most days but yet I never feel bored. It's crazy.
