A very profound poem that does indeed fit the image perfectly. I was surprised that so many others also saw a dark and sinister element in this image. I never saw it that way until I read the other comments.

Interesting comment. I was drawn from the present (obviously when I saw the scene to capture it) to the past by those comments you refer to. It does have a slight 'graveyard' or a Bronte sisters feel to it. I don't think the notion it spoils it though

I think people see different things looking at a photo depending on their own individual experiences and beliefs. I think all agree that it is well done and a very good photo! I have enjoyed the discussion . I don't come out of my "shell" very often lately.
