Ur welcome, Goliath is a great photo!! And yeah, from Melb too!! Been meaning to go to Mt Dandenong to take some shots, so was quite suprised to find that one 
But I'm only using a point and shoot camera, so the results would prolly be a lot worse...

No, you definitely should go to Mt Dandenong! It was great fun to shoot there, but probably more fun if you bring a friend along.
A point and shoot can be good too, but bring a tripod with you, because it can be surprisingly dark in the thick of the forest. And of course, you might want to try taking some long exposures of waterfalls ^_^
