WOW I AM SO HAPPY!!!!! i can't believe that in 2 days i go from 860 some odd views to 903 wow that means only 97 more to go till i hit 1000 and you all know what that means... right? remember that who ever gets the 1000 view needs to give me proof of it and then i will either draw a pic or write a poem of their choice.

alright i am sick of seeing sto0pids comment with such a nanchalent answer from me.

first yes looping does occur in the west. and actually here it si worse and more obvious, because if you watch old tom and jerry or bugs bunny or what not you can see the back ground go by again and again during chase sceens. and in anime the tears are meant to make the audience laugh. humor is different in japan then it is here.

i replied origionally to this with the fact that the way sto0pid draws eyes is very anime like. and i did figure out what style his stuff (well some of it) reminds me of. (homestar runner)

he brings up computer generated art. i do prefer to see things hand drawn but when done correctly cging can be really good.

i brought up disney because af the rip job they did on atlantis (nadia secret of blue water) check it out you will see what i mean.

the many styles thing.. i would like to point out that each studio has its own style, has anyone seen flcl or spirited away or fruits basket or whitch hunter robin or ghost in the shell stand alone complex? each is so different from the other also if you compare the older anime to newer anime there is some much that is different. and another point is that different anime is meant for different ages. ie pokemon digimon(kids) dbz (teens) witch hunter robin etc (older teens and adults) the list goes on.

"the new pop art" ??? anime had gained in popularity here in the last decade, but do you remeber transformers, or speed racer? both are anime!! anime has been here in the us since the 60's and if you watch newer american cartoons you are starting to see anime influences in it. (powerpuff girls) and lots of other cartoons (esp what is on cartoon network)

anyway that is my rebuttle. thanks for letting me rant even though i am sick...

to the post below, i'd like to say that american cartoons do looping as much as eastern cartoon-- they come from having a low budget and needed ways to save money, for the most part...

my style is original... of course i have influences and thats probably why my style looks fimiliar... i get my inspiration from one artist only, [link] and thats where my influences stop. And sure... disney may have copied some aspects... but where did cartooning come from in general?.. disney was one of the first... then anime came along changing the style of cartooning as we know it. but thats not my beef on anime.... my beef is that anime is the lazy mans cartoon. they loop the animation over so they dont have to draw as much... like pokemon.. ever seen someone cry in that show?.. the tears are majorly looped... of course all cartoons west or east do loops... but anime artists just dont know when to draw the line on the loop... there is a thing of doing it too much.. it ruins what cartooning is all about.. and dont get me wrong.. its not just anime i have the beef with... i have a beef with the new disney (classic disney was what cartoons should be like). they are using computers to do the work for em... like whats that movie ... the horse one.. well all im saying is the looping and computer work found in anime and disney (modern-dis) is not what cartooning should be all about.. soon u wont even have to pick up a pencil... itll all be done for u... and whats the use of that?.. whats the use of having a passion if thats the way itll be?

im not finished yet..lol

WESTERN CARTOONS: western cartoons have come a very long way... they have spanned out into many styles.... styles vary from mickey mouse to johnny the homocidal maniac... admit thats impressive.

EASTERN CARTOONS(anime): i admit some anime cartoons are really cool... like technoman.. i used to love that show.... shit like that.... but have we seen any major changes in the style?... are there any hybrids?.. no.. i havent seen anything... its all the same style.. get what im tryin to say? (im not good with my words).

So to sum this up all i have to say is anime is just another hype... its the new pop-art. the masses draw it, making it to me a lifeless shell. everyone does what everyone else is doing coz they are scared to be an individual... and the more and more who copy the anime style (ie: almost everyone on DA), u'll find it will kill anime.

the reason i am hated here on DA.. is coz i speak my mind.. i admit some of the stuff i say is uncalled for... but im being myself... im not drawing what everyone else thinks cool.. im drawing what i feel... as far as my anime influence goes... i guess u get the vybe of anime in my style becuz of the cute drawings i do... but if u look hard enough u will see its very much different.

plz.. im open for disagreement... but im sure u agree with some things i have said.

Complex, there is a fine line between constructive critizism and insults. Look it up. As for spell check yeah MS word works wonders!
