in an interior environment or just in a plain white setting...

well...i like it better in the interior cuz it just look nicer...but harder on the lighting...

G'day! - although to my disapointment no one really says that here )

My rendering is pretty basic, I model in autocad and export to 3dsm, I use mostly standard textures with light tracer and I havent really got a hang of lighting so use spotlight to just illuminate everything - my renders are on my website ( [link] ) but haven't uploaded them here yet.

Ive read a load about vray and im thinking this is the way to go? Im resonably happy with the results im getting at the moment but struggle to get good textures/patterns onto things - I dont understand the settings andf cant find any helpful tutorials.

yup i use vray...

dunno any tutorials....most learn my self..

here's my setting..
1. indirect ilumination(GI)
--->change quasi-monte carlo to light chace
2. image sampler(antialiasing)
---->catmulrom
3. color mapping
---->exponential

its not getting hold of the programs thats causing me trouble. I dont have a computer to install anything onto! this is an old, old, old laptop belonging to our flatmate so I cant put anything decent on it

Hence the hours and hours spent on DA looking at other peoples work instead of doing something myself!

PS. Unit Zero - dont worry about that just get on there!
