He is posting photographs and images that are not his own works. Copyright infringementβ¦

Oh yes, I've seen those pics around websites. Shouldn't he give credit first before he posts them? Or he can't post them at all?

The rules on copyright infringement and violation are typically decided on a case-to-case basis because the parameters tend to be very broad. For example, it is not infringement for a professor to make copies of an image and distribute it to his/her students as a learning utensil, but it is infringement for a man/woman to make copies of an image and distribute it publicly to promote something like [for instance] a concert they are playing at.
The Copyright Act of 1976 would say that it is only violating the rights of the copyright owner if one were to use the image [or whatever the article may be] for personal gain of some kind [typically financial], but because of the growing rate of art theft due to the ease or access created by the internet and digital world, new laws [such as the No Electronic Theft Act of 1997] state that no unauthorized copies or distributions of works can be made for ANY use [other than, as was mentioned before, educational purposes].
I could ramble on with more legal jargon for hours on the topic, but I think you get the basic idea with this little blurb. And even if it weren't illegal, it is highly unethical. Furthermore, even if he were to credit the creators in his submissions, this is not a site to share other's works, it is a site for artists of a great variety to submit and their own works.
Essentially, by submitting the images bradthefox has been submitting, he is violating laws, ethics, and the purpose of this website.

I have been telling him that, and his response has been to hide my comments, reply with "dude stop saying I stole stuff"and make a fuss about people "accusing" him of art theft when I, in fact, proved on many occasions that he has stolen them.
During one of our spats I said this to him:
"Well, you stole Flight 5191 from a Kentucky newspaper: Link , you certainly didnβt photography the path of the Hale-Bopp comet , or the Sinking of the Lusitania : Link . [p.s. that isnβt a photographβ¦so you prove your art theft simply by submitting this painting as photojournalism]. In addition, screen shots from video games and the use of generators, such as the one used to make this very entry, hardly constitute an βoriginal creationβ.
I could continue this list for quite some time, as you know.
Iβm not trying to be βmeanβ, but you donβt get to commit copyrights infringements just because you want to share something you find interesting. You donβt even MENTION the true artists, or the sites from which you took the images that you are posting.
People work very hard to create their works of art, and you are insulting them and betraying them to no end by stealing their work and posting it as your own."
And his response was to post images he "created" with an Internet generator: [Link ] to somehow serve as "proof" that he wasnβt stealing images..
Heβs a stubborn, confused, and ignorant 14-year-old who is determined to make a big deal out of everything instead of just accepting that he didnβt know what he was doing and kindly removing the copyrighted images.
