Oh...Cabal is much older than the Twilight series. I created him back in 2004...as part of a round robin project called "After the Rain" He is a half vampire (dhampir), and a trained vampire hunter.

No I can't claim having made up "dhampir" it is actually a term I first heard from another writer friend of mine. But even she doesn't hold rights to it.
If you google the term there are some very interesting legends about the dhampir, dhamphire, dhampire...there are several more terms for them depending on the society originating the story.
The term literally means "Vampires son"...
