I'm certainly not used to people who speak/write in german here
I always use the english language, it's rather weird to
get an answer in my mother tongue
(also: sorry for my grammar, I'm propably not the best when it comes to english ._.)

well, except for my overuse of fräulein, you've seen most of the German I have XD
and I talk to a lot of non native english speakers and you speak english very well

Funfact: The german word Fräulein actually isn't really used anymore.
Most in an sarcastic or funny way XD
But well, I don't know how u use it.
And yeah, it's so funny you guys use german words without even knowing sometimes!
As far as I know you use words like Doppelgänger, Poltergeist, Rucksack,
Kindergarten, and so on... it's weird >.>
I think it's beautiful if you're able to speak and understand more than one language
(also you have a lot more books/movies/fanfictions to enjoy that way *-*)

I use it as meaning "miss" which is the way my grandfather apperently used it. my dad is from Costa Rica, but his dad fled Germany when Hitler came to power. so some of the german I knwo comes from dad, but a close friend of mine in highschool was originally from Germany, so hard to say XD
the answer to that is that English is an absorbant language. it picks up words from other languages when no atriquite word exists. it also tends to replace longer words with shorter ones.

Yeah that's the old meaning. Fräulein means young girl or something,
but now it's mostly used by... moms. "You talk to me Fräulein!"
Or if you want to sound chesty! XD
Hmm, who am I to talk, german is kinda the same.
I use english (and sometimes even french) words as well
Because sometimes there just is NO translation that really fits
Also english is kind of a trend here?
Mostly young people use english words like "random", "however" or
even whole phrases!
But mostly we tend to swear in english... XD
Also everyone has to learn english in school. Most of us start at the age of 8...
I never was good in that subject to be honest...

Really? Sometimes we use spanish phrases as well...
In school I had to learn at least two languages
English for everyone, then we could decide between latin and french
(I picked latin, baaaaad idea)
And later on we could learn spanish instead of latin or french, which I did ^^
In Germany it's common to know the basic phrases in many languages
Hola, como estas? Qué tal? You know, things like that
Hmmm que dices! XD
Even if some dumb poeple still say "let them learn german instead!"

And you know what's the most fucked up thing that happens to me CONSTANTLY?
I can't remember the german word.
I am talking with someone and then I don't know the word I want to use
and instead of discribing it another way I blurt out the english word, sometimes
the spanish...
One time I got so desperate that I would say the word in english, spanish,
italian, french, finnish, dutch, turkish, freaking JAPANESE until I finally
remembered the german one!
I was was looking for the word 'actually' -.-"
