Thank you for the constructive criticism on the forum post I made. I totally get what you mean, normally I just take a quick picture of what I am doing and then throw it on here as my developments expand, but I could defiantly use more time in taking said photos.
I was getting a bit narky, I'm not used to having my art work described as "that" or being told not to use the camera I was given as a gift because it "deserves a better home".
However criticism like you gave me I am glad to take, so thank you and I hope you follow my work and comment further. I am only starting out on here so could use any guidance you could give me.

I do have to say, though, if you can get ahold of a scanner, I recommend using that instead. You'll get much better quality images consistently and easily. You might have to scan in parts and stitch them together, though.

How do I do that well? I have tried to do that before and have always found it looks messy, I'm not particularly good at using photo editing software, which is the reason photography itself is not my calling.
How would you go about it? X

What, how to scan in parts? As long as you scan each part with the same settings they should be consistent to each other as far as color and resolution goes, so putting them together should be as easy as making a photoshop document that's bigger than you need, putting each piece in, and fitting them together like a puzzle. Then just crop the document back down to size and maybe smooth over the seams if they're too obvious.
Actually, I'd be willing to bet that there's a medly of programs that will stitch parts together for you, and I have a sneaking suspicion that a good number of scanning programs have that feature built in.
Personally I don't really have any experience with scanning in parts since my school has some pretty outrageously large scanners.

You are probably right lol. Thank you so much for the advice. I'm trying to get into art school, I didn't get in last year because its so competitive so every little bit of advice helps. DeviantArt is meant to be relaxing and just a way of getting easy feedback, but if I'm going to do this I will do it right.
I will take your advice and try scanning in my work that can fit in my scanner or I can scan in as sections.
