if you did not know this...... when they first came out the SG custom ( which was the first ) was called a LES PAUL custom BUT it had the signature twin horned body which is the trade mark of the present day SG. GIBSON later came out with the standard shape LES PAUL with 3 pick ups, pained it black called it the LES PAUL CUSTOM " black beauty ". but to me the SG custom is the " HOLY GRAIL ".

Here's where I'm at so far:Β www.blenderartists.org/forum/aβ¦
Body is not going to stay that texture, i was playing around a bit, but everything else is pretty well finished for the lower part. I have the neck done too, but that's for another day, maybe later today!

Thanks! I've been fooling around with Blender for a while, and reading about 3-D in general. It's pretty straight-forward once you get used to it, it's all just pulling vertices around Blender Cookie has some amazing "getting started" tutorials here: cgcookie.com/blender/cgc-cours⦠Most things I did on that guitar went back to the basics in the end

that is looking awesome babe. I know that it might be a little late.... buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.... have you maybe considered putting the original maestro tail piece on it?????

I did in the beginning, but I want mine to be sleek. Those big tailpieces are beautiful, but too clunky for my taste. I'm using parts from almost every year on mine, it's going to be a Frankenstein's monster of sorts

Well, what I am actually going for, is the sexiness of the body, while still staying true to any piece of hardware that was ever put on this thing. It had two and three pickups, we all know that, and it had many pickguards, and many necks and headstocks I have already made the fretboard/fingerboard, with true rosewood and pearl inlay "traps". A '65 mixed with a '79? Why not?! LOLΒ
"This is my SG...there are many like it, but this one is mine..."
