Gabriele. I'm not sure if it's right, but Galina was the closest the little girl could get to it.
And that's SOOO cool that you're Russian! My friend's Serbian grandmother taught me to read and write in Russian this winter (she learned it in school). My friend from Belarus, (the little girl I keep mentioning) her name is Anastasiya too, but everyone calls her Nastya. She stays with us every summer. We go through a program called A.B.R.O (American Belarussian Relief Organization). It's to help children with the after-effects of Chernobyl.
Sorry, I'm rambling. So do you live in the USA?

Yea I live in Illinois..and I usually go by Nastya too for friends and family...but in school people usually call me Anastasiya. Wow, seriously, thats pretty amazing. I didn't know that something like A.B.R.O existed but thats really cool. Its really awesome that you're learning Russian too...it's not an easy language to learn. I'm fluent in speech and I can read and write pretty well but it's definitely not perfect. I moved here when I was 7 so I didn't get to go to school there and actually learn. But I have the basics down from my mom and thats good enough for now. I'm planning on going back for college though :) (Smile)

ABRO is a great program. Look it up on the internet if you're interested. I'm pretty sure they have a group in Illinois. We pay for our child's (the child we host) flight here which is expensive, but it is SOOO worth it. It's a great experience. They get a group of hostfamilies, each of them host 1 or 2 children, sometimes more.
It's probably too late to get in on it this year, but next year is completely open. :) (Smile)
Did you live in Russia before you were 7? (sorry to be asking all these questions!)

Yea, I was born there. My brother still lives in my hometown. Yea, next year I'll be living in Ukraine so I don't think its going to work :( (Sad) And I don't mind the questions. :) (Smile)

Oh, okay. I love Ukraine. I met a mother and daughter from Ukraine in a store this February, actually. The daughter was pregnant and looking for a crib for her baby, so she wasn't really interested when I went to talk to them, but me and her mom talked a lot. She seemed so happy to find someone in America that she could talk to. She was really nice. :) (Smile)
What is your hometown, if you don't mind me asking? (And please don't think I'm a stalker or something, cuz I'm not. I just really really love Russian culture, so....yeah. )

Yea, most people from foreign countries want someone to talk to. It's really different here and really strange, I guess. Lol, I don't think you're a stalker...you'd be asking for my address then XD My hometown is called Balakovo. It's on the river Volga and is really close to Saratov. You can see it on google if you're really interested..but it's a fairly small town.
