I find how I should respond to be quite difficult. And to be honest it took a good while to compose.

I'm sorry my assumption hurt, but I cannot take back what I said in the past. I can only understand the new information that you have provided me.

But if my comment does hurt you, then you should take it upon yourself to know that there is and always is reason and room to improve. Microsoft Paint is a hard art tool to work with (but isn't that what makes it/life fun? The challenge of it?) so I congratulate you on taking that challenge to present an important message.

In case you were wondering I thought the unevenness of the cross represented how unfair it was that such innocent lives were lost and I thought the colors represented hope and love for them.

When we post art on the internet, we are allowing for criticism (someone is bound to misinterpret it or see a fault with it), for evaluation. And it is with dealing with those that help us grow as artists. To only experience praise would not be doing you any favor in the long run.

So try not to take my statement as a personal offense. If I was not interested in your art or the message you were presenting then I wouldn't have bothered to ask.

The important question I ask you is: why do you create art?
Perhaps from there I can try to understand why the comment hurt you.

I actually was trying to find out why you did art to find out why the statement hurt. That was it.

All right. Then I have no idea why my statement hurt you. I was only making an observation.

But also, isn't singing (music in general) a form of art? How do you react when you sing and someone hears a mistake? Do you hide it, try to make it seem the mistake was never made? Do you embrace it, knowing that by accepting it you can be a better singer?

I don't understand why it would be wrong to ask why you do art. Who does not wonder what propels the bird to fly?
