it doesn't necessarily mean na kahit may contract ka to do a film in a major company, you're not indie anymore. sabi nga nila, ang indie ay kapag nagagawa mo ang gusto mo without any major backer. so halimbawa kahit na employed ka sa isang kumpanya, pero nagagawa mo naman ang gusto mong gawin sa larangan ng 'art' whatever, maituturing ka pa ring indie. halimbawa sa larangan ng musika, si gary granada ay maituturing na indie artist kahit na under siya sa gma records. although bread and butter nya talaga ang commercial projects, lumilikha pa rin siya ng sarili nyang mga kanta dahil gusto nya itong gawin. mapa-personal, gospel o pulitikal man.
