Their rules. :( (Sad)
In my pamphlet it says:
"Photographs and movie filming are authorized solely for private use; you must contact the Soprintendenza before filming with tripods, flash and artificial lighting, or for any commercial use."

Museums have similar rules. They own the rights to the art/artifacts so I don't have the right to sell images of it. I probably couldn't sell my Louvre photos, either. At least not the interior ones. No rule against me using them to boost my portfolio, though. :) (Smile)

Wow, that's really pathetic... It sounds like something that could be challenged, though, if one wanted to... What if you'd never read the pamphlet? And you never signed the pamphlet, surely, so it doesn't sound like it should be legally binding.

(though of course I am not a lawyer and I completely understand not doing so).
