Oh thank you!
Light and Shadow is an expressive combination in a picture, i think so

Yeah ... kind of magic, sometimes.
For some reason, i do prefer light, because i find it more fragile, more rare. --> [link]

oh yes, that's right.
But without shadow or darkness, the light can not exist

Or isn't it the contrary? darkness is the absence of light, but light is not necessarily the absence of darkness.

I think the interaction between light and darkness is very interesting.
Do you know William Turner? He is an artist, who creates a colourtheory about this theme.
The contrast is a very important point of his theory and its fascinating how the interaction about light and darkness drift.

William Turner ? the one who painted maritime scenes?
I have seem some of his paintings and watercolors, but didn't know what you said about him. Thanks for the info! i will try to read about it.
You know Georges De La Tour? he is a french artist who also relied on light and shadows.

Yeah, that's William Turner. When you are interested in his paintings of light and darkness, I can approve "Light and Colour (Goethe's Theory) - The Morning after the Deluge - Moses Writing the Book of Genesis." and "Shadow and darkness: The night before the deluge".
I know George de la Tour, but I don't read literature about him.
It's a nice picture from him.

Thanks a lot for these references. Both are fascinating, very "involving".
Ah, i don't read litterature about him too, i just know some of his painting. Actually, i never read litterature about artists, except one book about Van Gogh and Gauguin.
You read books about artists?

I thank you!
My minor field of study in university is art history. Because of this i read a lot about William Turner

Ah okay. History of arts always seemed interesting. (Myself , i have a curiosity in Knossos painting). And what was your main study in university? Photography?

cherrymoon89 In reply to Bcharzini [2012-01-22 17:03:30 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, history of arts is very interesting.
My main study is sociology. it's a complete other course of studies, i know^^ but exactly this point is so exciting
Photography is just my hobby.

Bcharzini In reply to cherrymoon89 [2012-01-22 18:41:41 +0000 UTC]
Haha, no way i know a German lady through internet who also studies sociology AND like photography . For a minute there, i had to check your name, to be sure it's not the same person.
Anyway, yes, you are right! it's good to change. If you took something similar, that would be quite boring. In my uni, we had all legal matters, no optional courses.

Hoffe, du fΓΌhlst dich wohl, da, wo du bist! FΓ€nd's schΓΆn, wenn wir uns mal wieder irgendwann sehen kΓΆnnten! *knuddelknutsch*
