Ooo, stripes! Nice, and the pillow box hat. Havent seen this kind in a while.
They were common in old cartoons from the 40's and 50's
the famous ones that comes to mind is Bugs Bunny in Big House Bunny
and the Tex Avery Wolf. It was around that era, stripes with pillowbox hat were common in cartoons with prisons.

Although in real life I think they stopped using those in chaingangs after the 30's.
One very common example you see is in The Green Mile movie. Down South I think it was common for the road working chaingangs to have the stripy suits.

They were often used in cartoons probably way into the mid 90's before the orange suits came into cartoons. Around 97-99 I seem to recal.
Did you specify a visual inspiration for the stripy suits? Like the hat and all that?

Yes! my other prison fanatic friend really likes the hat, and his two favorite characters are Flutters and Pinkie. I got those girls for him. the artist already did RD in prison orange for me a while ago. :D (Big Grin) I don't have a visual reference for the hat. But I'll use this one from now on, it's a super cute drawing and I like the wing cuffs too

Pinkie Pie would look great on a chain gang! would certainly give an old-school vintage look. and I kinda wanna go for that next time
