it doesn't mean anything
supposedly it was a deviant art april fools joke but became so popular that it stuck
i only heard this i wasn't around on DA when it came out. the more you collect the better the llama you get. for example i currently have a supper llama (when you get ten)
if you wish to give it to someone you go on their profile page and go to give. one of the options is llama badge and then you have to confirm it. it is free but you still have to give your password to confirm.

for 20 years an octopus in germany was tossed two balls before each world cup match. each ball would have the flag of one of the teams on it the one the octopuus picked would win and it was right every time including when it picked spain over germany last game. i was for germany but now for spain.
