Hows the falconry going? Just wondered as you haven't posted in a while. Milo hasn't even finished moulting yet so I won't be out for a while. :/

Just got back home and picked up Eowyn last week. Working on training her, she's at the tail end of her moult - all the flight feathers and tail are grown in, just has some coverts to finish up. She's fat as all heck, have to drop her about 6 grams or so. I'll be posting more soon, I'm sure!

Yeah, it's hard to wait sometimes. My friend's Harris hasn't dropped a single feather, and though he's 3 years old, still has a few juvie feathers. It's weird.

We have a female who's 14- Still got juvie feathers! I didn't put Milo down till June, but he started in May. I think he's just being painfully slow.

That's crazy! My kestrel didn't drop all of her wing feathers, or if she did, I didn't find them, nor can I really tell them apart from her adult ones.

XD
There's one at the centre I volunteer at but the volunteers don't normally handle him because he's a hunting bird and funny with strange people. I hope if I go there long enoughv than I can have a picture with him.

She is well. At the present, she's on her tall perch in the living room, fluffed up and with one foot tucked up.
I'm going to take her out hawking tomorrow assuming the weather cooperates - i.e. not too windy.
If it's too windy, I'll put her on the creance and give her a bagged sparrow just to keep her going on sparrow=game training... 'cause I'm not certain that she has it 100%.

It is lots of fun. I really enjoy falconry and working with the birds. I have worked with both Red-tails and a kestrel, and presently have a kestrel... she is fantastic!
Best of luck. I really was fortunate that my boss happened to be a falconer and that he agreed to take me on once I expressed an interest.

No problem! I'd be happy to help her find answers to questions or point her in the direction of starting into the sport.
