Thank you very much for the fave :]

If you ever have any questions about photography just gimme a bell. I've been studying it for two years so I know a little bit

Thank you for the offer, you may regret it tho, I have a ton of questions lol.
If you could recommend a good book for beginners I would really appreciate that. I have been surfing the web for tip's for the beginner photographer, and there are bits and pieces, but I was hoping for something more.

If you ever get bored and would critique some of my pic's, I would be forever in your debt...I know I've probably done everything wrong, and really need some straight up advise, not feedback my mom would give me. So fire away if you get a chance.

Thanks again!!

Well it depends on what type of photography area you want to pursue :]

Like; I focus on mainly on landscape && animals and for photography course architecture. So gimme an idea and I'll find a few books. But as a general overview - the books photoshop bring out are good value

There's no "wrong" photos;
just how you view them.

I find myself taking mostly macro shots of things, well, as close to macro as I can get with my current camera. But the subjects I feel most compelled to capture are bugs, and flowers and such. Haven't been very pleased with the results..

I can really see how I need to think a lot more about a shot before I snap it....but still feeling quite lost when it comes to shutter speeds, aperture, and saturation... words I'm running across when googling photography tips...My camera does have the option for manual focus, or shutter, aperture priority, but again the sensor on my camera is a far cry from what I see with those who use a dslr. Will take me a bit of saving to have that option available to me.

Downloaded a free trial version of photoshop, and was totally lost..still trying to figure that monster out!! Haven't ever used photo editing software before, other than the basic tools that came with my IPhoto app on my mac...

So my thought is..If i can learn the basics of taking a good photo, understand what the settings are, and how to apply them, things like that, then I will be better able to really use a dslr to it's potential when I get one.. Or even decide if I have the talent to merit getting a dslr, ya know?? Some have it and some wish they did

I don't want to be one of those people who show their pictures and then pray for compliments (gag) This is something I am doing for myself, the only hobby i have taken up, that has really kept my interest and made me want more. So I would like to do it justice...

Well if you see any of my photos - none of them are taken with an SLR ~ I've just fiddled with the manual settings

If you want some advice - scrap Photoshop CS3 and go to Photoshop Elements - so so so so so much easier to use; and until you start getting into the technical stuff- it'll be much better for you money and time! If I remember correctly; theirs walk throughs on the disc as well; I'd recommend buying it as its a good $100 cheaper than CS3; or just be naughty and find illegal stuff. [though highly discouraged *cough**cough*]

I have both installed on my computer - and I started with elements but via school and such I upgraded to CS3.

On the subject of SLR's again - you can get "beginner" ones; which haven't got as many settings as the more advanced ones. I'm saving up for an intermediate one [.... eventually -_-] but one of the people I was on a trip with the other day had a SLR ~ never did photography before, and his photos were 10x better than mine.
So they're worth the investment.

Back to the books and such - as I said; look for photoshop books that they bring out ~ not for the actual program but for help with the camera. Read your camera instruction manual (you won't believe how many people skip this and don't realise the potential of their camera!!)

Also - go to your local library. I live in kinda a small city - but our library is chockers with photo books.

I'll still have a look for some book titles.
There's one I had in mind but I'm having a mind blank
