Hi - yes I'm sorry to read about the accident with the fixative.Β I've been using oil pastels for many years, but never found that they need a fixer.Β They only rub slightly against a another paper (such as in a sketch book) and doesn't seem to damage them and if I want to display them, then displaying in a frame under glass works fine (as long as the painting is not in contact with the glass).

Exactly. Glass is a pretty good choice if you want to display a work. But in my case I'm living in a very small space (about 9mΒ²) with my dearest wife (yes, we're trying to enlarge it but in life only one thing is for sure - you can't be sure of anything; health, work, family, friends...) and exposing more than 2 arts will be pretty difficult also according to the fact that our 4 walls are made of nasty concrete not so susceptible for drilling wholes. So fixative is a way of making it more resistant for a spartan standards of storage and access for improvements. I will be more than happy if I could just hang my works or just simply make a more proper place to store them, don't counting the frustrating fact that I don't have a place to make more arts but my own knees. Keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, maybe this is the year that will change everything for us. It has to be after all our disasters.

Interesting to see Donington Hall among your subjects - that'll be Castle Donington in Leicestershire? Leics is my original home county - but these days I'm far closer to Donnington Castle in Berkshire.
