Well, hardcore fans will never die out.  

Of course, the fandom isn't as active as it used to be, but there are still many fans here lingering around and waiting for new fanworks. But maybe people just can't wait for the new movie that will complete the manga and give us a true ending. This could also be a reason for the sudden interest for this show. I wonder what will happen after that. :/

I did wonder somewhat if people are still into the show or if it's just a renewed interest because they are making a new movie.  I've been away for a long time so I don't really have a clue what people are doing these days lol.
