Had to! Your comic, as well as the rest of your art, are great! And who knew I'd find another SNES music enthusiast on deviant art?

How could you NOT be a SNES music enthusiast?!
I'm glad you enjoy these things too.

Hey, there! I don't really know how I found you, but I read your signature and just...fell in love. Did you write it?

dcbernman In reply to Korfa [2011-06-11 23:35:15 +0000 UTC]
That's one of the fun things about DA... you never can seem to remember how you met people. I did write my signature (I figure everyone else get's quoted often enough ). It's actually a pretty accurate description of one night this last semester at college, right about at midnight. It was a very revitalizing moment. I used to love writing so much in high school... ought to get back into it. Maybe if I get my webcomic ideas up and running.
Your gallery is pretty cool! You're way more established on DA than I am
And you actually have CS5 and a tablet! Lucky! I'm hoping by the end of the summer I will have earned enough money to at least by photoshop and gotten better enough at drawing to legitimize owning it at all. So, what are you inspirations? (Come on, if someone posts on my profile, I at least try to make good conversation. Not like I can swap art at this point XD)

Korfa In reply to dcbernman [2011-06-20 01:23:56 +0000 UTC]
I would LOVE for you to do some more writing! Your signature is absolutely beautiful.
Oh, yes, photoshop is SUCH a plus, I absolutely love it. :3 CS5 is fantastic, but even Elements is great. I would definitely recommend it!
Ooh, inspirations? Haha, there are so many! Art-wise, I love , and I want to try a lot more realism the way she does. Writing-wise (even though I have no writing uploaded, teehee), I draw a lot of real-life inspiration from my nightmares (ha...) and my crazy life, as well as the BILLIONS of authors that I absolutely love. I'm a big believer in pulling ideas/tips from other artists as well as oneself.
What about you? What are your inspirations?

Cool
I'll have to work towards getting Photoshop CS5 then. Probably won't be necessary for at least a year though.
I found it interesting about your inspirations. I also take so much from out of my dreams, both from when I sleep and from when I have waking dreams. I don't have nightmares though... never have, although I have had dreams in which I was scared, which is just so cool, because you're totally there and emotionally invested in the events taking place!
I think as far as the arts go I resonate most with music, especially since I used to play relatively seriously, so most of my ideas are tied to song and music in my head. Music of all cultures and styles, though how I do LOVE what a good orchestra is truly capable of
And I used to be such a bookworm ^^
Kinda fallen out of habit unfortunately. Two of my all time favorites though are the Dune series and Les Miserables. Most of everything I could ever want in literature can be found in their pages. I'm actually looking for some good reads, so I'd love to know your favorites too I'd post some of my favorite Deviant Artists, but then, I guess you could just rummage through my "Favorites" gallery... it's getting pretty big though
Oh, and sorry for taking forever to get back to you. I've finally got a summer job, so I'm forced to spend my free time much more conservatively T_T

I would really recommend CS5, you can do a lot of things with it that I didn't even know were possible! But it's not necessary to be good. Lots of people think that it's the program that makes good art. But really, it all depends on the artist.
And yeah, nightmares are DEFINITELY a great place to pull inspiration from, as long as it's not too painful to recall them. But the real depth of emotion in them is an awesome motivator.
You know, I've never read the Dune series OR Les Miserables! How pathetic I am! I've seen the movie Dune (haha, but that doesn't count...) and I have the show soundtrack for Les Miserables (haha, also doesn't count). I'll have to read both of those, now! Thanks! And some of my favourites are Feed by M.T. Anderson (I've never been a huge fan of futuristic sci fi, but this. book. is. incredible. It's my favourite book, I can rave about it for hours.), The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (the prose. THE PROSE. So beautiful), One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey (very compelling, love the characters), and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (very raw and modern and artistic, though with a choppy and powerful style).
Few, sorry about the huge reply, haha! I feel like I'm writing you a novel. I understand about the Summer job thing, no worries!

Lol, thanks for everything, definitely made my day
I'll be getting more serious about teaching myself to draw in these next two months, especially once finals are over, so that should get my spirits up. I've never seen DBZ except for when I was little. I really like some anime, but that's one of those mega serious I'd just rather avoid
