WHY I WAS WRONG ABOUT 'THE RISE OF SKYWALKER'I've updated my thoughts on this RoS thing.
[THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A RESPONSE TO A COMMENTER BUT IS NOW AN ESSAY]
I'm starting to warm up to it, now. I'm now being to thing about all the different beats and....rather than re-write everything....I'm going to add to what is there with supplementary materials and such as fan fiction....
The only real quibble I have now is the complete side-lining of Rose Tico.
As for the other quibbles....they can all be explained, expanded or fixfic-ed while still being true to canon....
BEN SOLO'S "DEATH":
Ben Solo will never leave Rey for he and Rey are a rare Force Dyad which can never be separated. Ben MERGED with Rey and lives inside her. Ben's still alive and well. Ben can still return. At the end of the movie, we see the Force Ghosts of Luke & Leia but no Ben. That means Ben is within Rey. Rey can speak with Ben at all timesΒ
I WILL CREATE MY OWN SEQUEL TRILOGY, ANYWAY....[NOTE: I WILL RE-EDIT THIS ESSAY IF AND WHEN NEEDED]
While I have warmed up a bit to THE RISE OF SKYWALKER and accept it on it's own terms, I still think there's a lot of tweaks needed in the new trilogy in general. While I like a lot concerning The New Trilogy, I admit that it was often a sloppy mess made up as they went along with a ton of wasted opportunities, characters and plot directions.
I'm not part of the chorus that hates on the New Trilogy like it's Gigli, Ishtar or Birdemic but even as someone who generally enjoys these films I have a LOT of quibbles.
A LOT of folks are just disgusted with a few details....
Many are mad that Ben died in the end.Many are disappointed in how General Hux's entire arc went.The Knights of Ren were a bit of a letdown. No Stormpilot!Phasma didn't return.Rose completely

NOW; ON TO MY ESSAY....
As I write on this day....December 20th, 2019....I have been thinking about the Sequel Trilogy a LOT. I have such mixed feelings about it. There is so much to love but so much lacking. Usually; I am one to not go the "bellyaching fan" route and even felt people were WAAAAAY too hard on THE LAST JEDI.
But; As a whole; Much of the New Trilogy has been wasted characters and concepts and then THE RISE OF SKYWALKER trashed everything.
I just took at gander at TV Tropes and got to read a basic gist of THE RISE OF SKYWALKER and I just went "GOOD GRAVY!"
JJ ABRAMS BASICALLY LISTENED TO ALL THOSE BELLYACHING FANS AND GAVE THEM WHAT THEY WANTED AND TRIED TO PLEASE EVERYONE!
HE TRIED TO PLEASE THE ROSE-HATERS.
HE TRIED TO PLEASE BOTH THE REYLOS & ANTI-REYLOS.
HE GOT IDEAS FROM PEOPLE WHO HAD WEIRD IDEAS (

There might be a slight delay as I'm also waiting on Good Omens to release so there's enough Crowley pix for me to work with (I'm basing Stormy's new look on David with red hair, but there's not enough pix). Rn I hv an idea for the comic but no pix so I'm focussing on The Actor's Wife (the comic is also part of a promo thing I'm doing cuz I recently published The Actor's Wife, my novel in print and digital and need to market it as much as I can) for now. As soon as I've enough pix, I'll make d comic and put it up and thenΒ complete The Actor's Wife, cuz I really don't wanna keep anyone waiting. So sorry for the delay.

What's the "Actor's Wife" about, anyway?

It's a humorous romance about a Scottish guy named Jack O'donnel from a small town who is trying to fulfil his dream of becoming a Hollywood star from a struggling actor and the woman in his life who's his childhood friend, Ruth O'Donell who's his constant companion thru all the obstacles he faces. Along the way they fall in love, go thru the ups and downs of life and the film industry (there's even a reference to Harvey Weinstein in one of the chapters coming up), etc. I don't wanna spoil anything, so here's the summary:Β
Ruth leaves behind her job, family and friends in Scotland to help Jack follow his Hollywood dreams in L.A., but will her selfless love and sacrifices be reciprocated as he climbs the stairway to stardom?
The comic follows their journey from Scotland to London to L.A. and their relationship as well. I based the character partly on David.Β

OK, I guess. If u change ur mind, they'll probably be up on here for a limited period. Anyway, they're two characters close and dear to my heart since I modeled Jack after David and he's a mix of sweet Cami and the Doc and a bit of a douche like Aiden and I came up with the idea to set it in H'wood after watching LA without a map. I'm just a bit upset the comic isn't fairing as well as the novel did, tho I enjoyed making both. They're not even getting enough favs to grab anyone's attention. I'm thinking of deleting 'The Actor's wife' from here since Deviantart is clearly not the place for it and instead continuing posting em on Facebook and Tapas where the audience is a bit better than on here on Deviantart. This comic was more of a passion project, unlike the Cami-Ten stuff which I do outta fun and as a hobby when I'm bored/uninspired. I think I'll keep Deviantart for the 'hobby comics' and fanfic/fanart since that's what it's for anyway and take 'The Actor's Wife' elsewhere. Sorry and stay tuned for the DW crossover stuff. Really love the stuff ya posted on G+π Glad ya like the new comics.They do deserve happy endings,especially super talented Fergus. I originally planned on killin off Ten an' havin him regenerate into 11, but I decided to instead let him live an' travel with his new companion/ daughter, Jenny, who according to me is so super cute like a Barbie doll and also bad ass, so she'd make an awesome companion! I've ideas for the Doctor's annoying son as well. Probably I'll give him a makeover and turn him into a villain in one of the comics if I get time.
