Lotsa schools in California like UCLA, UC Berkeley... I don't even know if I'll get in, haha. If not it's UMCP for me.

Oo, I'm actually thinking about applying to all the UC's. But I doubt that I'll get in to UCLA and berkeley cuz they're pretty selective as opposed to schools like ucsd and all the others. Besides, we're both out of state so we have like less than 5 percent of getting picked or something. haha. It was sooo tiring helping out at the vball camp. I'm just glad that it's finally over cuz I'll get paid like couple hundred dollars. And yea, I'll be playing for COT next year, if I get in.. lol. you should stil try out!Now that you're gonna be a senior, you'll be all relaxed unlike junior year, where you have to worry about colleges and SAT's. It would be fun. And plus, you'll be able to come to practice more, which means you'll be playing most of the games at tournaments. But i guess it depends whether you want to play or not. I understand, if you don't want to play, I mean our team wasn't very good and coach Shang should've put you into more games. I'm just worried that I won't be a starter next year on school varsity team becuz all the upcoming freshmen are much more experienced and better than I am. T_T. o well, it's ok. I still get to practice though. How about you? How's your vball team for your school?

Haha, I have no hopes of getting into Berkeley, but UCLA is my first choice right now. If I don't get in, my fall-back is UC Davis. Hopefully I'll get into one of those so I won't have to stay on the east coast, haha.

Yeah, I didn't try out for the school team this year because of college apps and all the AP's I'm taking. We'll see if I'm busy or not near COT tryouts, I might be getting a job and making some money for college then.

Yeah, I want to go to UCLA too. I'm not sure if it's true, but I think it's known as a "party college" or something haha. But I kinda want to go to a school where they have a good science program and a nice weather also. I probably won't get in to UCLA or Berkeley especially cuz I'm out of state and I barely have anything special on my record. But I'm pretty sure you can get in since you're taking lots of AP's. Don't you have to take like 2 or 3 subject tests in different subject areas in order to get into any UC's though? The east coast has very good schools, but it tends to get boring here so I want to apply to schools in other states too. lol. But my high reach-1st choice school is JHU and my second is Georgetown and UCLA. My third is UCSD and UMBC. I don't know where else to apply besides those 5. haha. I'm thinking about doing the early decision for JHU, if that'll increase my chance by any bit.
Do you know any other good schools with good science programs/department other than super schools like HYPS?

I see, you're going to be busy even in your senior year. Why are you taking all the AP's if you're finished with the college apps?


Anyways, good luck with your job. I hope you get a scholarship so you don't have too much tuition on your back. lol.

I mean, I really think it's who you choose to hang out with in college. I guess since it's near LA, it might be a bit of a party college but it takes good scores and high GPA to get in to UCLA, so the academics are probably going to be high too.

Pshh, what are you talking about, I'm sure sports count for a lot on the extracurricular side. I mean, practice every day after school and stuff takes a lot of dedication.

Wow, you've already thought out most of your college list! I barely thought about it until summer this year, hehehe. But yeah, early decision would definitely increase your chances. Btw, if you want a compiled list of schools with good science programs and different majors and stuff, I recommend you buy the Ruggs college book. It's really good for that stuff.

I'm still taking APs because it'll save me some time in college, which I can spend partying instead, lol jk. But really, when colleges see that I've taken like 4 APs junior year, I don't think they'll like it if they see that I'm not taking any more APs in my senior year, and it wouldn't look good... so I'm keeping my APs, lol.

That's true, UCLA IS hard to get in. And there are probably so many asians there. lol. And sports are always a plus too, but I don't think it counts too much unless you're like a star player. I'm thinking of taking bio, math2 and chemistry for sat 2, but I don't know if chem is a good choice. I heard that it's really hard and that most ppl don't get a good score on it.I know you took bio and math2,but what did you take for the third one?

4 APs in your junior is a lot! How many classes did you take that year? I would like to take as many AP's but I already have 6 full non AP classes signed up. On top of that, I have the SAt's so I don't think I have any shot at APs. Besides, my school barely offers any, which means I have to work by myself or with a tutor through an online course...

Also, I guess it depends whether or not you'll have a relaxing senior year. Some people just don't care, but others are really careful with their senior year grades. I think I would still be busy in my senior year considering colleges can cancel acceptance if you get bad grades. D8 What's the average sat score and how many ap credits do most people from your school have?

And are you planning on paying most of your tuition by yourself? @_@ Any help from your parents? :3

Haha, don't think I'm joining the teams, but intermurals seem fun. If you take bio, I suggest you take ecology over molecular, because ecology covers a smaller range of topics and it's easier to study for. I made a mistake by taking molecular, lol. I took Chinese for my third one and got 780, haha.

I took 6 classes in my junior year. But I think I balanced out the 4 APs pretty well with studio art and French... I studied for other classes during those two, haha. But yeah, I think you made a good choice to concentrate on your SATs and volleyball. Colleges don't get a look at your AP scores until after you get in.

I think I'll let myself slip a little during second semester, but not too much. It'll definitely be easier with college apps out of the way, though. Haha, I have no idea what the averages for my school are, but most of my friends take 1 AP sophomore year, around 3-4 junior year, and same for senior year.

Well, my parents are planning on paying for my tution, but considering that I need to pay them back once I'm out of college, I'm still worried for tuition.

I was actually considering on taking the molecular bio.... Isn't ecology stuff like population and swamps and all that? I'm no good at those...I think I'll study both if I have time. But anyways, since I haven't taken ap bio, do you think just going through one bio sat prep book from princeton review would be enough? It's really condensed and has only has 2 practice tests though... Or, is it necessary to buy like 2 or even 3 and keep on practicing? i heard that princeton is too concise and barrons is better cuz it's more thorough.. What do you think?

780 on Chinese is really good. lol. I didn't know you were fluent in Chinese on paper. It's funny, cuz I'm taking Korean for one of my sat 2s, cuz then i don't have to study for it. tee hee. I'm guessing it was the same case for you? :3

So you're saying, Ap classes really don't matter when it comes to admissions? Does it not put you higher on the list for taking harder classes? i thought colleges look at all the classes you've taken. If AP's don't make you a better candidate, then what's the point of taking so many of them?

Ahh sorry for the late reply.
Molbio is harder, but I guess it would look better than ecology, haha. Have you taken it already, or are you planning to take it?
If you haven't taken it, I recommend the Barron's study books over Princeton. They tend to overprepare you, which I think is better than just preparing you like Princeton does, lol. And I think you should stick with just one prep book, because a lot of information will be repeated in other books.

Haha, 780 on Chinese is like 40th percentile!! A lot of people do really well on the Chinese SATs and if you miss like 1 question you're automatically dropped down to like the 60th percentile. xDD It kinda sucks.

O: I hope you get full score on your Korean SATIIs!

Hahaha, I barely survived last year. Looking back on it now, I must have had an average of like 3-4 hours of sleep every night, haha. It was so bad, I wouldn't recommend other people to take 4 APs. xD

Colleges look at the general picture more than just what classes you took. People usually take APs just to get some credits out of the way for college and save some money, haha.

Awww, I'm sure you'll get a good profession and pay your parents back right away. ^^

Thanks so much for the advice. And sorry for my late reply too. I haven't been on deviantart for a while.I still haven't taken any of the SATs yet.. still preaparing for it.
And 3-4 hrs of sleep?? That's crazy man.. how do you even survive? I sometimes take like 3 hour nap during the day. lol.
Volleyball tryouts are coming soon! Man, I wish you could play this year. haha.

Junior year was survival on energy drinks for me, haha. Near the end of the year, Red Bull started tasting like metallic stuff. D;

Are you trying out for COT still? Now that I look back to last year, I liked our team and everything towards the end, but I disliked our coach. I didn't like how we got uneven playing time. ._.;; I think I'll stick to CCACC this year.
