I also wanted to ask you about Georgia Tech since I am thinking about applying there for the fall semester, and was wondering if you could tell me about your experience there, and also the degree that you chose (industrial design)? I was going to apply for computational media but it seems that you have experience with graphic and web design with your degree so I figured I should look into that some. If you could reply when you have some time I would really appreciate it! Thanks

Georgia Tech has a really nice and safe campus and is close to a lot of cool stuff since it's in Atlanta. You don't even feel like you're in the city when you're walking around campus since there's so much green.

For the first 2 years of Industrial Design they'll teach you a lot of basic Design stuff that's applicable to pretty much any design field, so that is really nice. You have to take a studio class every semester that will be the majority of your work (lots of projects that take a lot of time) and you have to take them in a certain order so you can't graduate in less than 4 years (8 studios fall/spring semester).

Something I liked a lot about my major was that I learned a lot of things applicable / makes you think in other Design fields, but you won't be specialized in anything except product design. It's also really easy to get B's in a lot of the classes since they're project based and not test based, so you just need to put in effort. However it is really hard to get A's in studio.

From what I hear the Computational Media major is cool and fun as well. I also have been in some of their labs and they are pretty new and nice. Hope that helped.

Thanks so much for the reply! I read up on the Industrial Design degree a bit yesterday and realized it wouldn't be the best choice for me as a transfer student So I'll probably stick with trying for Computational Media. It's nice to get some information from a recent student though and hear that the campus and everything is nice
