What in the world am I doing...?
Oh hey peoples, socially awkward PhD student here! I've been writing these six nontraditional graphic novels (and I do mean novels) and some spin offs since like high school. But never have I had the time and motivation to sit down and actually illustrate them, let alone publish them... the goal is to complete one full issue (1 color cover and 35 black&white panels of illustrations plus text) each month. Probably being updated once a week in 9 panel segments. But Katy, if you haven't been able to do this before what makes now any different? you may ask. Well my friends, that's where YOU come in. The gist of it is you are here to hold me accountable and nag me for more panels and spin off poster art--yay you!

About "Splinters"
This magical tale takes place in a time of knights and sorcery. The beloved king and his family were murdered years ago and his less friendly brother took his place... With the blood-right (which comes along with magic) to the throne no one but a few vigilante groups would dare disobey the king's rule. Thus a life of poverty and misery for the masses.

However, one crazy thought from perhaps a crazy orphaned girl (who was re-orphaned by the new king when he sentenced her foster mom to death) sends her and her misfit friends on an adventure to remember. Her foster mom had left her a note, it seems, explaining that the good king's children are still alive... So now all she has to do is find these completely unidentified children who are probably in disguise or held captive somewhere (if they are even still alive) and then prove to the entire nation that they deserve to be on the throne... and defeat all the king's sorcerer buddies... no biggie... what could possibly go wrong?

So that's the vague plot. For some of the novels. To be honest though I care a lot more about this girl's trust issues and her inability to take a joke... or a break. I'm crossing my fingers she can get over some of that along the way...
